About Me

Hello, my name is Angela and I am a professional basket maker based on the Lizard peninsula in Cornwall where I also provide basketry workshops. My workshop overlooks the countryside, where I feel connected to nature. Working sustainably using my own harvest, I use willow as my primary medium to craft both contemporary and traditional baskets . I like to mix this with other materials sourced from the natural environment around me.

After years of learning traditional skills and working sustainably, I create contemporary and traditional baskets reflecting the beauty of my surroundings. My daily routine of walking and sea swimming on the picturesque Lizard peninsula inspires me. The tactile nature of my work combined with the feel of the willow allows me to unwind and let go of everyday stress - getting lost in the sound of weaving and the rhythmic movements of my craft.

Working sustainably is a passion of mine, and I aim to achieve self-sufficiency in terms of the materials I use. I increase my withy beds year on year. Nothing is more satisfying to me than producing beautiful contemporary and traditional baskets from materials harvested just a stone's throw from my workshop.
