Hello, I’m Angela — a professional basket maker based on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. From my countryside workshop, I create handmade willow baskets and share my passion through basketry workshops.
Rooted in Sustainability
Sustainability is at the heart of my practice. Each year I expand my withy beds with the goal of becoming fully self-sufficient in the willow I use. Nothing is more rewarding than weaving both contemporary and traditional baskets from materials grown just a stone’s throw from my workshop. I also combine willow with other natural materials sourced locally, ensuring each basket reflects the landscape around me.
Inspired by Nature
Living on the Lizard Peninsula deeply inspires my work. Daily walks and sea swims connect me to nature, and that rhythm flows into my basketry. For me, willow weaving is more than craft — it’s a mindful practice, bringing calm and focus through the movement of making.
Sharing the Craft
Alongside creating baskets, I run basketry workshops in Cornwall where you can learn willow weaving, connect with natural materials, and enjoy the satisfaction of creating your own handmade basket.
